A Nostalgic and Memorable Interview

Some moments in life transport you to a different time—when conversations turn into cherished memories. Our evening with the renowned tabla maestro, Pandit Ramdas Palsule, was one of those special occasions. It was an absolute privilege to hear his life story, experiences, and insights shared in such a personal way. This unforgettable event was made possible thanks to the wonderful Karishma from Radio Karishma.

Podcast of the interview.

Karishma’s interviewing style

Karishma’s interviewing style was nothing short of unique and refreshing. Sitting on the floor, with an ambiance reminiscent of the classic Doordarshan days, the setup created a sense of intimacy and nostalgia. It brought back fond memories of the beloved TV show "Surabhi," hosted by Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak—a show that celebrated Indian culture, art, and life in a heartwarming and real way.

The evening was more than just an interview; it was a journey through Pandit ji’s life, diving deep into his passion for tabla, his journey in music, and his philosophy as both a learner and a teacher. His stories were both insightful and inspiring, giving us a glimpse into the life of an artist dedicated to mastering and spreading the art of tabla.
